Montezuma County, CSU Extension hire peer educator

Montezuma County and Colorado State University Extension recently hired Lucia Bueno-Valdez as a peer educator for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - Education (SNAP-Ed). Bueno-Valdez recently received extensive training at CSU and will be responsible for conducting community classes in nutrition, food safety, stretching food dollars and the importance of physical activity in Montezuma County. SNAP-Ed classes are free to those who qualify. Throughout the lessons, participants will receive food thermometers, water bottles, measuring cups and spoons, grocery lists and a cookbook filled with low-cost, easy-to-prepare nutritious recipes.
