The award-winning documentary “Bears of Durango” will be screened at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at the Animas City Theatre, 128 E. College Drive.

The Durango Film-sponsored screening will be attended by the film’s director, Dusty Hulet, who will answer questions after the screening and share details about the film’s new partnership with Mountain Studies Institute.

“We’re thrilled that Mountain Studies Institute has signed on as a fiscal sponsor of ‘Bears of Durango.’ They do amazing work, and their involvement in the project dramatically increases our ability to push the conversation to a much larger audience” Hulet said.

The film provides an inside look at the bears of the Animas Valley, as well as the struggle to find solutions to the rising number of bear-human conflicts across Colorado.

Mountain Studies Institute’s partnership and fiscal sponsorship of the film make it possible for contributions to the project to be tax exempt. People interested in contributing can visit mountainstudies.org/bearsofdurango.

Tickets cost $15 and are available at https://bit.ly/2RLJoPv.
