The Southwest Farm to Yarn Collective will host a knitting design class on Saturday.

Knitters are invited to attend a Design 101 class hosted by the Southwest Farm to Yarn Collective Saturday morning.

Dana Jensen will teach the class, which focuses on the principles of pattern repeats and gauge, so that participants can design their own scarf or shawl using colorwork, Aran or lace knitting.

The class costs $15. It’s at the collective, 360 W. First St. in Cortez. Attendees are asked to bring yarn, needles to match and one or two different-sized needles, and graph paper or a design app.
