The Consortium for Healthcare Education Online (CHEO), which includes Pueblo Community College and seven other community colleges in five states, has introduced a website to help students learn about health-care careers.

PCC is the lead college on the project, which targets TAA eligible, veterans and unemployed or under-employed adults.

PlanYourHealthCareer.org offers data on careers and the educational programs needed for them.

The website offers:

Jobs, internships, job fairs and open houses

Education and career opportunities and salaries

Aptitude, skills and interest assessments

Education planning

Career coaching

Links to employers and internships.

Prospective employees may create a webpage, store résumés, transcripts, references and certifications, and access employers and local workforce centers.

“Careers in health-related fields are sustainable and offer higher wages than our economy has seen before,” said Maria Fieth, CHEO project director. “We consider this website a link between wishes and reality for students and for employers.”

Other participating Colorado colleges are Otero Junior College and Red Rocks Community College.

The project is funded by a $14.2 million grant under the U.S. Department of Labor.
