Cortez snowboard winner
Standard Sales Co. and Durango Mountain Resort are partnering for the 2012-2013 ski season. To celebrate Bud Light being the new official beer of DMR, Standard Sales is running a promotion with participating liquor stores in Durango and Cortez. For the fourth month in a row, February's winner Pat Kincade came from Smitty's Liquor at 10255 US 491 in Cortez.
Pinterest for Beginners
On Thursday, March 21 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Geeks On Grand will be offering a Pinterest for Beginners course at its business location at 145 Grand Ave. in Mancos.
Pinterest is an online pinboard, and the third hottest social media site in the world. In a quick one-hour class, there will be a review of the basics of this popular site, how to get started, how to use both personally and professionally. Things covered include: creating an account, create pin boards, how to "Pin," and more. The cost for the course is $25. This class is meant for people that are interested in starting a Pinterest account (or, if you've started one and don't know how to use it). Bring a laptop for this hands-on workshop.

Chamber Awards approaching
The cream, and the not so cream, of society are invited to a secret bash - a roaring 20s speakeasy. There will be gangsters, grifters, dolls and molls at the Chamber's Annual Celebration on Saturday, March 23 at 6 p.m. Tempt Lady Luck at craps, roulette, black jack and Texas Hold'em. KSJD membership drive
Three times a year KSJD goes on air and asks listeners to contribute to the financial well being of their favorite public and community radio station. The next on air membership drive will happen the week of April 8-12. They are looking for volunteers to answer phones and take pledges and bring a positive energy and personality to the lines.
