The K-9 Search & Rescue Team, Inc., headquartered in Dolores, recently participated in a mission in Belleview, WA as consultants. An 85-year-old man with serious medical conditions had left his home and could not be found. Using suggestions from K-9, the man was found, alive and well, some 450 miles away, in Oregon.

The K-9 Team also assisted with a mission in Mesa County, CO recently, looking for a 60-year-old lady missing from her home. She was found, unfortunately deceased, outside K-9's assigned search area.

The Team looks forward to continued service in 2013. Among its many partnerships, the Team is working with the Riverside Convenience Store, 1110 Riverside Avenue in Dolores, to make Colorado Search and Rescue (CORSAR) cards available to the public. The purchase of these cards contributes to the state's search and rescue fund and supports search and rescue operations statewide. The one- and five- year CORSAR cards are available at the Riverside Convenience Store and the Lone Mesa State Park Office in Dolores, as well as at other local businesses.

The Team is always looking for new members - a dog is not necessary! The website is www.k9team.org and a contact phone number is 970-882-4746. Contact us - we need your help so we can work together to help others!
