On Wednesday, Feb. 27, the board of trustees met in executive session and voted unanimously to appoint the town attorney, David Liberman, to negotiate a contract for the position of town administrator with Andrea K. Phillips, Columbus, Ohio.
It is not known at press time whether Phillips has accepted the offer.
In the search for a town administrator, the search committee selected three finalists, which were in Mancos for their final interviews on Feb. 25 and a meet and greet that evening with Mancos. They were interviewed three times, once each by the following panels:
Panel of five town trustees and the mayor
Panel of town staff department heads.
Panel of town manager from surrounding towns.
Background checks and reference calls were made for each of the finalists.
