Sunday, Dec. 30

7:09 p.m.: Three women were arrested in connection with an assault at Boggy Draw, 222500 County Road 31. The women allegedly followed a man and a woman in another vehicle and then assaulted them. One woman was reportedly angry over another woman who was messing around with her “baby daddy.” One woman was arrested on charges of third-degree assault and harassment. The other two were arrested on harassment charges.

Monday, Dec. 31

2:51 p.m.: A man was arrested on charges of criminal mischief and domestic violence for throwing an electric lawnmower and damaging the taillight of a 2017 Hyundai in the 24000 block of County Road G. He was arguing with a woman with whom he was intimately involved.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

1:26 a.m.: A man was doing donuts in a pickup truck in the intersection of U.S. Highway 160 and Colorado Highway 184 in Mancos. The undersheriff saw the truck and performed a traffic stop. The driver said his pickup has a big motor that makes donuts fun. The driver was cited for careless driving and driving on a suspended license.

4:00 a.m.: A woman who slid off U.S. Highway 160 near Eagle Claw Liquors, 4321 U.S. 160, was arrested for DUI. She was driving a 2013 Dodge Challenger and traveled about 250 feet off the road. She told a deputy that her date of birth was 2014. During roadside maneuvers with a Colorado State Patrol trooper, she said the drunkest she has ever been on a scale of 1-10 was the letter “D.”

5:43 a.m.: An unoccupied black SUV was parked in the roadway on Colorado Highway 145 and County Road M. The car had damage to the front end and left side. It was locked and had hazard lights on. Attempts to contact the vehicle owners were unsuccessful. The vehicle blocked traffic and posed a risk to motorists and was towed.

7:53 p.m.: No arrests were made in a possible violation of a restraining order case in the 14000 block of County Road 27. A man and woman were sending text messages to each other regarding child arrangements, with some messages bordering on harassment and threats. A deputy contacted District Attorney Will Furse, who stated there was not enough evidence to prosecute.

Wednesday, Jan. 2

7:56 a.m.: MSCO received a letter detailing a cold break-in of a foreclosed residence on the 24000 block of County Road E. An incident report was made for insurance purposes.

5:02 p.m.: Two large black Rottweilers on the loose in the 31000 block of Colorado Highway 184 damaged a rabbit cage at a home and killed the rabbit inside. The dead rabbit was found in a dog’s mouth. The property owner said she wanted to press charges as these dogs have repeatedly caused problems. She said she had to figure out a way to tell her daughter that her rabbit was dead. The dog owner was contacted and said he had been trying to find his dogs. He was cited for dogs not under control and unlawful ownership of dangerous dogs.

Thursday, Jan. 3

1:28 p.m.: A detective spotted a man he knew had an active felony warrant at Cortez Cash and Pawn, at 24099 County Road G. He told the man to turn around and place his hands behind his back, but the man attempted to run through the front door at the pawn shop. After a struggle, the detective handcuffed the man and arrested him on the warrant and a new charge of obstructing a peace officer.

5:32 p.m.: A man at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served two warrants for failure to appear.

Friday, Jan. 4

3:14 p.m.: A man at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant for failure to appear.

9:49 p.m.: A man in the 16000 block of County Road 20 was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

10:51 p.m.: A driver who did not stop at a stop sign on County Road E was cited for driving on a suspended license.

1:31 a.m.: Security at Ute Mountain Casino, 3 Weeminuche Drive, detained an intoxicated man. An MCSO sergeant arrived and arrested him on a active warrant for contempt of court.

Saturday, Jan. 5

2:37 p.m.: A man was standing in the street and screaming obscenities and profanities in the area of 1011 Central Ave. in Dolores. A deputy told him to go inside his home until he was sober. Less than 15 minutes later, the man was back outside and yelling at his neighbor while holding a beer. He was arrested for disorderly conduct.

6:32 p.m.: The driver of an SUV in the 24000 block of County Road G was cited for driving 49 mph in a 40 mph zone and for driving on a canceled license.

10:22 p.m.: An abandoned vehicle was a traffic hazard near County Road F.8 and County Road 24.2. The driver said the vehicle just slid into a ditch. She was cited for driving on a suspended license.

Sunday, Jan. 6

2:42 p.m.: A man reported that he lost his wallet at Skyline Gas Station, 27963 Colorado Highway 184. The man returned to the station and was informed that his wallet was not found.

Monday, Jan. 7

12:48 p.m.: Dogs were running loose at a property on the 13000 block of County Road 33. The homeowners have had repeated issues with dogs killing their sheep. Three people provided witness statements regarding the dogs. The owner of the dog was cited for dogs not under control.

4:48 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

Tuesday, Jan. 8

12:00 p.m.: A resident in the 13000 block of County Road 33 reported dogs running on her property for the fourth time in about two months. The homeowners have had repeated issues with dogs killing their sheep. The owner of the dog was cited for dogs not under control.

3:32 p.m.: A man was remanded from Montezuma County Combined Courts, at 865 N. Park St., and taken to Montezuma County Detention Center.

6:06 p.m.: A woman was served a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for failure to comply.
