Memorial services for longtime Mancos resident Margaret Ann Garrett will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21 at the Mancos United Methodist Church.

Marge passed away on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 surrounded by her family at her home. Marge was born on Aug. 6, 1919 in Omaha, Neb. She moved to Kansas City, Mo. with her family in 1936 where she met and married her husband of 59 years, Levi Garrett.

The couple fulfilled their dream of moving to Colorado when Levi retired from the produce business in 1980. They enjoyed many years on their ranch outside of Mancos until Levi's death in 2000. Marge then designed and built her lovely home in the town of Mancos.

Marge was an avid cook, skillful bridge player, a world traveler and enjoyed a trip or two to the casino. She designed and made all of the beautiful stained glass windows displayed in the Mancos United Methodist Church where she faithfully attended for many years.

Marge is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vic and Sheryl Bruce of Mancos; and her grandchildren, Stacey Baxter of Cortez, Brian Bruce of Tempe, Ariz., Heather Nash of Kirtland, N.M., and Heidi Kuenzler of Denver, Colo. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Levi Garrett; by her son, Curtis Garrett; and by her brother, Curtis Sigler.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mancos United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 505, Mancos, Colo. 81328.
