After the successful "muddy mule" rescue last week, I attempted to personally thank all those who participated but could not, so I am taking this opportunity to do so. My heartfelt thank you to: The 911 dispatcher who knew who to call, and called back to tell me help was on the way; the firemen of the Rescue Unit of Firehouse #1 who were the muscle of the rescue; Dr. Coty, DVM at Montezuma Vet Clinic for his expertise and guidance; and Keith Duncan (the "Problem Solver") for his great skill and gentleness using his backhoe to pull Loretta Lou from the mud.
We are so fortunate to live in a community of such caring people.
