Lawful gun owners don't imperil anyone's life

Editor:

As a lawful gun owner, I am responding to Denton May's Feb. 6, letter to the editor, in which Mr. May opines, "The rights of gun owners end where they imperil our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

I am delighted to inform Mr. May that no lawful gun owner wants to limit or imperil Mr. May's unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, which are endowed to Mr. May by his Creator. Mr. May will never have to fear the actions of lawful gun owners and other law-abiding citizens. ALL lawful gun owners are delighted when Mr. May enjoys his constitutional rights!

The people Mr. May should fear are illegal or criminal gun owners who are robbers, burglars, home invaders, murders, and the like - all of whom would be delighted to deny Mr. May his rights of life, liberty, and happiness at the end of an illegal hand gun or a fast and furious assault weapon.

Again, as a lawful gun owner and law-abiding United States' citizen, I suggest that Mr. May stop "advertising" all over Colorado in his letters to the editor that he is opposed to legal gun ownership. Those home invaders mentioned above are looking for "liberal gun haters," that are sitting ducks, to become their next victims.
