Wednesday, Oct. 31

11:07 a.m.: A man walking his dog off-leash on the 600 block of N. Chestnut St. was cited for dog running at large. The dog was a white Australian Shepherd.

12:40 p.m.: A man and a woman driving a black Volkswagen Passat with Utah plates were arrested on warrants out of San Juan County, Utah.

10:01 p.m.: A white sedan collided with another vehicle at the intersection of South Cedar St. and Baker Ave. The driver of the white sedan fled the scene and was listed at fault for failing to stop at a stop sign. The other driver met an officer at the police station to provide information on the incident.

Thursday, Nov. 1

8:45 a.m.: Two men refused to leave Walmart, at 1835 E. Main St. One man left and the other was intoxicated and locked himself inside a bathroom stall. A police officer used a broom handle to unlock the door and arrested the man for trespassing.

11:14 a.m.: A male inmate was issued a warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:29 a.m.: An officer responded to a call of two dogs running at large on the 200 block of S. Pine St. The officer cited both owners for dogs running at large and failure to license the dogs.

12:25 p.m.: A woman arrested on a warrant on the 1100 block of S. Market St. was found to have a bag of meth concealed in her bra while being booked into the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. She was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance and first-degree introduction of contraband.

2:20 p.m.: A man drinking near a business on 100 S. Market St. was arrested on a warrant.

7:26 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at a residence on the 700 block of Canyon Drive.

Friday, Nov. 2

3:23 a.m.: A woman called to report an unknown male sitting inside her car outside Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The man was intoxicated and stated he was sitting in the car to stay warm. The owner of the car stated she wished to press charges. The man was cited for second-degree criminal trespass.

9:32 a.m.: An officer responded to a report of four juvenile girls who had possibly snorted pills near Oak Meadows Mobile Home Park, at 405 W. Seventh St. One girl was running around the park, and another was vomiting when an officer arrived. EMTs stated the pills were not harmful when taken apart, but the girls were taken to the emergency room to ensure they were OK. An officer spoke to an older male who had called to report the girls and after checking with dispatch learned that he had an active warrant in Montezuma County. He was taken into custody and during a search officers found a meth pipe in the man’s jacket. Several of the girls reported that the man had offered them marijuana, leading to a citation for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Saturday, Nov. 3

12:19 a.m.: An officer responded to a report of a drunken driver. Several people were found passing around a bottle of alcohol in a Toyota Tundra in a parking space at McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St. The driver was cited for DUI alcohol and open container.

3:53 a.m.: A man was arrested for domestic violence and third-degree assault for hitting his wife with a cane on the 400 block of W. Seventh St. When an officer asked if he hit his wife, the man reportedly said, “Yeah, I did because I was pissed off.”

6:25 p.m.: A woman reported a possible hit-and-run in the 800 block of Balsam St. She stated she did not know when or where the damage occurred.

8:38 p.m.: A woman was arrested for shoplifting $191.64 worth of goods from Walmart, at 1835 E. Main St. She was also arrested on three warrants and received a trespass notice from Walmart.

Sunday, Nov. 4

10:17 a.m.: A woman called to report that the front and rear license plates of her son’s green Subaru Legacy were missing, in the 800 block of S. Chestnut St.

6:22 p.m.: Officers responded to a minor traffic accident on the 600 block of E. Montezuma Ave. One driver was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign. The other was cited for DUI alcohol, and a male passenger was arrested on a warrant. While in custody, the man reportedly said, “I got brass knuckles and some weed in my pocket,” and once inside a patrol vehicle he said he had about an ounce of marijuana underneath his “sack.” An officer put on gloves to retrieve the marijuana.

6:19 p.m.: A vehicle rear-ended another vehicle at the Wendy’s drive-thru, 221 E. Main St., then fled.

10:36 p.m.: A man at Family Dollar, at 324 S. Broadway, called to complain about Cozy Inn, at 44 S. Broadway. The man informed the officer that he most likely has a warrant out for his arrest. The officer advised the man that he does have an active warrant. He was arrested and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Monday, Nov. 5

3:50 a.m.: A woman was arrested for stabbing a man in the back. The man had a laceration about 1.5 cm long on his back near his armpit. The woman allowed officers to enter her home, where they found blood on a couch and a knife with a small amount of blood on the tip. She reportedly told her 6-year-old son that, “Mommy has to go to jail because she messed up.”

7:50 p.m.: A man was causing a disturbance outside the grocery entrance at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. He was pushing against a Walmart employee, loudly yelling and had reportedly punched a man. He was cited for third-degree assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Tuesday, Nov. 6

1:41 a.m.: An 18-year-old man was arrested for DUI, driving without a license, careless driving, underage consumption, possessing more than 2 ounces of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and open container in the 400 block of N. State St. He stated he had consumed one beer and smoked one marijuana bowl 45 minutes before the stop.

5:29 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the 600 block of South Oak St.
