Wednesday, Oct. 24

10:09 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant on the 800 block of E. Montezuma Ave.

12:14 p.m.: A man driving a Honda sedan was arrested for DUI, no proof of insurance, driving without a license, obstructed vision, no front license plate and open container.

3:40 p.m.: A woman driving a silver GMC SUV backed into a parked blue Ford in the parking lot of Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St. The driver admitted to being intoxicated and said she was too drunk to perform roadside maneuvers. She was issued a summons for DUI and released into the custody of her boyfriend.

Thursday, Oct. 25

1:36 a.m.: A man from Texas was arrested for speeding and DUI near the 900 block of E. Main St.

11:48 a.m.: A man was issued a summons outside of City Market, at 508 E. Main St., for stealing $21.14 worth of food from the deli. He stated he was hungry and had no money.

1:57 p.m.: The driver of a rented U-Haul truck hit a parked purple Jeep Wrangler and failed to stop and report the damages. A witness saw the incident and described the driver of the U-Haul, whom a police officer located and cited for hit-and-run and careless driving.

7:25 p.m.: A man who earlier in the day was issued a summons for stealing $21.14 worth of food from City Market, at 508 E. Main St., returned to City Market to steal $57.71 worth of food, including two deli side dishes, a tub of macaroni salad, 16 pieces of chicken, a tub of coleslaw and a large Reese’s bar. He was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

11:20 p.m.: Several people were fighting in the parking lot of Burger King, at 520 W. Main St. A man and a woman were arrested for disturbing the peace.

11:36 p.m.: A drunken woman who was banging on the front door of a residence on the 500 block of E. Arbecam Ave. was arrested.

Friday, Oct. 26

5:35 p.m.: A vehicle attempting to make a left turn from E. Main St. onto N. State St. collided with another vehicle.

8:21 p.m.: A man who stole a bottle of Dekuyper Orange Curacao off the shelf from Cork ’N’ Bottle Liquor Store, 443 E. Main St., and fled was issued a summons for shoplifting.

Saturday, Oct. 27

12:00 a.m.: A woman was arrested for DUI alcohol, no proof of insurance and violated restrictions on an interlock device in the parking lot of Chronic Therapy, at 1020 S. Broadway.

2:10 a.m.: A man holding a rifle was knocking on a trailer at 1410 N. Mildred Road. The residents said they did not want to pursue charges. A nearby resident began yelling obscenities at the officers as they were leaving. She was later issued a summons for disturbing the peace and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

10:40 a.m.: A man yelling by an abandoned vehicle was arrested on a warrant on the 200 block of N. Edith St.

11:32 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant on the 700 block of E. Main St.

9:55 p.m.: A woman who was eight months pregnant was arrested on a warrant on the 1400 block of N. Mildred Road.

10:18 p.m.: A woman was cited for displaying a fictitious license plate, driving without a license and driving without insurance on the 100 block of W. Montezuma Ave. The driver’s mother arrived on scene and explained that the invalid license plate was her fault.

Sunday, Oct. 28

1:18 a.m.: A man was arrested for DUI, third-degree assault, driving without a license, domestic violence, unsafe backing and violating a protection order at Main Street Brewery, 21 E. Main St.

1:52 a.m.: An officer observed a black Dodge pickup stop for a long time at several stop signs. The officer turned on her lights and the driver pulled into a parking lot and began running away. The officer observed the man fall onto the sidewalk and then fall straight into a support column, hitting his face and causing him to immediately lose consciousness. He was arrested for DUI alcohol, weaving and obstructing a peace officer.

11:40 a.m.: A man was cited for trespass at City Market, at 508 E. Main St.

2:11 p.m.: A man driving a blue Ford pickup was arrested for DUI alcohol on the 10 block of West Andrew Lane.

9:37 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant near South Broadway and W. Seventh St.

Monday, Oct. 29

7:35 p.m.: A woman called to report that her sister, located at the Econo Lodge at 2020 E. Main St, was drinking and failed to make a court appearance. She was taken to Montezuma County Detention Center.

8:54 p.m.: A man shoplifted a knife sharpener and piece of clothing from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., but was not immediately located. A man believed to be a friend of the shoplifter was arrested for felony menacing and a female was arrested for possession of meth.

Tuesday, Oct. 30

4:27 a.m.: A man passed out on the sidewalk was arrested for violating a protection order and taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

4:34 a.m.: Gun shots were heard near Sleeping Ute Apartments, at 516 S. Madison St. A man was cited for possession of a defaced firearm when officers discovered the serial number on a Highpoint 9mm pistol was filed down.

12:12 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant on the 20 block of W. Arbecam Ave.

1:33 p.m.: A vehicle exiting an alley between Main St. and First St. approaching S. Washington St. collided with another vehicle. Both vehicles stopped after the collision.

3:17 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant on the 700 block of E. Driscoll St.

6:00 p.m.: A man was cited for third-degree assault for punching another man in the face on the sidewalk at 10 W. Main St.

Wednesday, Oct. 31

5:14 p.m.: A male inmate at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was issued a warrant.

4:00 p.m.: An officer witnessed a man throw a 750 ml bottle of Taaka vodka at Centennial Park. He was cited for littering, open container and possession of alcohol in the park and taken to Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:45 p.m.: A man was passed out in the grocery side entrance of Walmart, at 1835 E. Main St. He was cited for violating a protection order and violating bail bond conditions.
