DUI Convictions



The following are convictions made for driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher or by prescription or illegal drugs. All convicts were ordered to obtain and follow one or more of the following: drug/alcohol evaluations, Victim Impact Panel, Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving, Level II education and therapy, Alive At 25, inpatient and/or outpatient treatment or therapy, and must submit to random tests for drugs and alcohol use. Suspended imposition of additional jail sentence (in parentheses) is conditional upon completing probation successfully and are awarded if all other requirements of the sentence are completed within one year. Dollar amounts are fines and court costs defendants were ordered to pay.

TUESDAY, JAN. 15

. Paulina L. Ketchum, 29, of Towaoc. Count #1: Driving Under Restraint; Count #2: DUI. This is defendant's second DUI conviction. Twenty days in jail with 20 days credit for time served, 365 days in jail (suspended imposition), updated sentence of 12 months probation, $1,134.50, community service 48 hours.

. Jon Jaye Steve Kaytso, 22, of Cortez. Count #1: DUI; Count #3: Driving Under Restraint-Alcohol Related. This is defendant's third alcohol-related conviction. On Count #1, 139 days in jail with 139 days credit for time served, additional 365 days in jail (suspended imposition), 24 months probation, community service 90 hours; on Count #3, 30 days in jail with 30 days credit for time served, $2,362.50.

. Kernisha A. Dutchie, 25, of Towaoc. This is defendant's third DUI conviction. Seventy-five days in jail with 147 days credit for time served, additional 365 days in jail (suspended imposition), 24 months probation, $1,356.50, community service 90 hours.



DWAI Convictions



The following are convictions for driv­ing while ability impaired with a blood ­alcohol content between 0.05 percent and 0.08 percent or by prescription or illegal drugs. All convicts were ordered to obtain and follow one or more of the classes or programs listed above in the DUI category; additional listed condi­tions also apply.

TUESDAY, JAN. 15

. Jerry David Sanchez, 38, of Pueblo, Colo. This is defendant's first conviction. Thirty days in jail (suspended imposition), 12 months probation, $779.50, community service 24 hours.

. Clarence D. Whiteman, 24, of Towaoc. Thirty days in jail (suspended imposition), deferred sentence of 12 months probation, $553.50, community service 24 hours.

MONDAY, JAN. 14

. Prescilla Dea Ketchum, 23, of Towaoc. Driving Under Restraint-Alcohol-related. Thirty days in jail with five days credit for time served, $214.50.

. Skylan Brassill, 20, of Mancos. Count #2: Resisting Arrest; Count #3: Alcohol-Underage Possession. On Count #2, 50 days in jail with 50 days credit for time served, $214.50. On Count #3, additional fine of $500 and 24 hours of community service are suspended imposition as long as other conditions are met. SCRAM unit is to be removed. Defendant must enter inpatient treatment.



Domestic Violence



The following cases of domestic vio­lence require those convicted to attend and complete one or more of these additional classes or programs in ad­dition to jail time, probation, fines and community service: domestic violence evaluation, substance abuse treatment and testing, inpatient treatment and anger management.

MONDAY, JAN. 14

. Roland Morgan, 43, of Shiprock, N.M. Disorderly Conduct-Fighting in Public. Twenty-four months probation, $1,429.50.

. Irene Gee, 54, of Cortez. Disorderly Conduct-Unreasonable Noise. Updated sentence of 12 months probation, $854.50, community service 8 hours, consecutive with case #12M645.

. Joseph D. Williamson, 25, of Cortez. Menacing. Twenty-four months probation concurrent with case #12M64, $1,511, community service 50 hours.

TUESDAY, JAN. 15

. Jon Jaye Kaytso, 22, of Denehotso, Ariz. Assault 3-Knowingly/Recklessly Causing Injury. Seventy-five days in jail with 75 days credit for time served, 24 months probation to run concurrent with case #09T967, $1,493.50, community service 75 hours.

. Joseph D. Williamson, 25, of Cortez. Harassment-Strike/Shove/Kick. Forty days in jail with 40 days credit for time served, updated sentence of 24 months probation concurrent with case #12M49, $341, community service 50 hours. A protection order remains in effect.

. Stefen M. Chihocky, 22, of Cortez. Assault 3-Knowingly/Recklessly Causing Injury. Ninety days in jail with 90 days credit for time served, $314.80.

. Shelly J. Chee, 31, of Cortez. Harassment-Strike/Shove/Kick. Ten days in jail, 24 months probation is revoked and 24 months probation is reinstated with same terms and conditions, $1,491.80.

TUESDAY, JAN. 15

. Edmund Begay, 45, of Teec Nos Pos, Ariz. Count 1: Assault 3-Knowingly/Recklessly Causing Injury; Count #3: DUI. This is defendant's third alcohol-related driving conviction. On Count #1, updated sentence of 24 months probation; on Count #3, 365 days in jail (suspended imposition), 75 days in jail with 75 days credit for time served, updated sentence of three years probation concurrent with sentence in Count #1, $3,380.50, community service 90 hours. A protection order remains in effect.

TUESDAY, JAN. 15

. Heloise Rene Tallbrother, 25, of Mancos. Assault 3-Knowingly/Recklessly Causing Injury. Eighteen months probation, $1,228.80. Defendant must write a letter of apology to the arresting officer and to the juvenile victim to be submitted to the probation department within 30 days of sentencing.

. Loreen Begay, 39, of Cortez. Assault 3-Knowingly/Recklessly Causing Injury. Twenty-four months probation, $1,498.80, community service 24 hours.
