Water bubbles up as city workers try to shut off the valve at Main and Harrison streets Friday morning. A water break on Thursday flooded parts of Main Street and even created a bit of a skating rink overnight with the freezing temperatures.

The city of Cortez and Colorado Department of Transportation set up barriers and closed the eastbound right lane of the intersection at Main and Harrison streets. The single-lane closure will remain in place until the water main is fixed but there is no estimate of work duration at this time.
