Nadia Hebard and Tony Littlejohn are whipping up pancakes at the Community Center for the Martin Luther King, Jr Annual Breakfast in 2011. In the background is Peggy Littlejohn.

On Monday morning, Jan. 21, a breakfast of locally-grown foods will be served for all who want to share. There is no charge for the breakfast (donations are welcome, but not mandatory) and is open to everyone. Serving starts at 7 a.m. and closes down around 10 a.m.

This is a great community event, gathering up locals to reconnect for the new year after the holiday festivities. This party was initiated by Nadia Hebard with a vision of supporting local growers and producers with local and organic food. We have carried that vision forward. We also are asking for some cash donations to keep the tradition moving by supporting our local gardeners, chicken-keepers, beekeepers, sausage-makers, etc. by purchasing their goods for the celebration.

If you would like to participate in or contribute to this event, please contact Dian Law (533-7536), Betsy Harrison (533-1068) or Peggy Littlejohn (533-1053) Thank you!
