Monday, Oct. 1

9:04 a.m.: A westbound vehicle in the one-way eastbound block of 300 E. Fourth St. collided with a parked vehicle facing east.

1:24 p.m.: A driver collided with a deer near N. Dolores Road and Barrett St. An officer euthanized the deer, and a friend of the driver retrieved the deer.

9:43 p.m.: A man was arrested for disturbing the peace after repeatedly yelling at a dog and the dog’s owner in the 1200 block of Montelores Ave.

Wednesday, Oct. 3

9:48 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

1:22 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the 10 block of N. Beech St., medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital because of intoxication, then jailed.

2:48 p.m.: An officer used pepper spray to separate two fighting women in the 200 block of N. Park St. One was arrested for disorderly conduct and harassment; the other, who said she was pregnant, was arrested for violating alcohol-related bond conditions and three alcohol-related protection orders, and was cited for disorderly conduct and harassment. At least four officers responded to the scene. Both women were checked by medics.

4:22 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.

6:14 p.m.: A bicyclist was injured after she and another bicyclist collided in the 1000 block of N. Mildred Road. The injured woman said she was riding northbound on N. Mildred when a male and female riding eastbound on Driscoll St. came into her lane. She said the male collided with her, then left the scene.

11:25 p.m.: A man was pulled over in the 200 block of W. Seventh St. because of a nonworking tail light and arrested on suspicion of driving with a revoked license (habitual traffic offender), driving with a defective stop light and driving without proof of insurance.

Thursday, Oct. 4

12:01 a.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, third-degree assault, harassment and child abuse after an officer said he saw her swinging at her boyfriend and a pregnant woman on a porch in the 600 block of S. Washington St. She and her boyfriend have a child, who was present during the altercation.

3:25 a.m.: A woman reported that her 2002 GMC Sierra was stolen on Sept. 30 from the parking lot of Sonic restaurant, in the 400 block of S. Broadway.

9:10 a.m.: An eastbound driver in the 500 block of E. Main St. collided with a southbound driver on Harrison St. At the time, the traffic light was malfunctioning, flashing red for drivers on Harrison and yellow for drivers on E. Main.

Friday, Oct. 5

11:13 a.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St., after a report of two men fighting nearby.

3:58 p.m.: One man was arrested on four warrants, and another man was arrested on one warrant at a residence in the 500 block of S. Linden St.

Saturday, Oct. 6

1:22 p.m.: An intoxicated man who was lying in the grass in City Park, 802 E. Main St., was arrested for violating alcohol-related bond conditions and a protection orders.

3:30 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, harassment and domestic violence at his residence in the 900 block of Livesay Drive after an altercation with his wife’s uncle. The altercation occurred the day after an officer separated the couple because they were arguing.

3:12 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of possessing meth after he was questioned about illegally parking his vehicle in the 200 block of W. Second St.

10 p.m.: A passenger in a vehicle was arrested on three warrants in the 700 block of E. Main St. The driver was cited for defective tail lights and failing to provide proof of insurance and an approved child restraint. Two children also were in the vehicle.

Sunday, Oct. 7

2:47 a.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of harassment, false imprisonment and domestic violence at an apartment in the 500 block of S. Madison St. after an officer saw him on top of his girlfriend, who later said the man was keeping her from leaving.

2:35 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant while turning himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

11:11 a.m.: A man was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and displaying an expired temporary permit after pulling out of the City Market parking lot onto Harrison St. His vehicle was towed, and he left the scene on foot.

11:24 a.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault after punching an acquaintance in the face while at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

3:56 p.m.: An intoxicated man was arrested on two warrants and cited with trespassing after refusing to leave Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.

5:42 p.m.: A man was cited and jailed for violating alcohol-related bond conditions and stealing a $2.99 bag of Cheetos from City Market, 508 E. Main St.

10:01 p.m.: An intoxicated man was arrested on a warrant in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave.

Monday, Oct. 8

3:01 a.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and DUI per se in the 800 block of S. Broadway after an officer stopped the car because it was believed to have been connected to a reported public disturbance at the Sleeping Ute Apartments in Cortez.

3:37 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant after an officer found him sleeping outside the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St.

5:56 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant after he was spotted using a computer inside the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St.

Tuesday, Oct. 9

12:24 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant at a residence in the 100 block of E. Downey Ave.

3:32 p.m.: A woman and her son reported that her car’s side mirror had been damaged in an apparent hit-and-run.

5:30 p.m.: A man was cited in the 300 block of S. Market St. for possessing marijuana in a public park. An officer requested that a substance found in his pocket be tested by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

12:19 p.m.: A man was arrested for being intoxicated in the roadway in the 2200 block of N. Dolores Road. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.

2:22 p.m.: A woman was cited for following too closely after her vehicle damaged the bumper of a vehicle at 10 N. Harrison St.

2:32 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

3:15 p.m.: After receiving a tip about a possibly intoxicated driver, an officer approached a man who had exited the walk-in clinic at 1314 N. Mildred Road. The driver was cleared of DUI, but his passenger was arrested on suspicion of possessing meth and drug paraphernalia.

5:35 p.m.: A man was cited for possessing alcohol and an open container in Centennial Park, 515 N. Mildred Road. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital because of intoxication, then jailed.

9:35 p.m.: An officer responding to an alarm found a man lying inside the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St. The man, who apparently had been locked inside after the building closed, was arrested for violating an alcohol-related protection order, medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital for intoxication, then jailed.
