Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 7:45 PM

On Saturday Jan. 5, at 6 p.m., the Eve of the Epiphany, the Epiphany Fire representing Christ as the Light of the World will be lighted at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 300 N. Willow.

After a very brief service, hot chocolate and cookies will be served. All are welcome to this new Mancos Tradition.

The Burning of the Greens is a traditional English Custom. Many villages in England still continue this community tradition. This event gives us the opportunity to light the First Light of Epiphany, the season of the Festival of Lights, as well as providing the opportunity for our community to meet and greet. We hope to see you there.

Live Christmas trees or any other live Christmas greens with all decorations removed may be brought to the vacant lot at 300 N. Willow any time after Jan. 1. Please put them in the area that has been marked off. rees should be delivered no later than noon on Jan. 5.

For more information, please call 533-9104.
