BLM artist-in-residence plans Canyons of the Ancients presentation

Artist-in-residence Lanny Wagner will give a presentation on night photography at 7 p.m. on Oct. 5, at Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum, 27501 Colorado Highway 184 in Dolores.

Wagner plans to guide visitors through his three night photography sessions that he conducted in the monument and share photos of Ancestral Pueblo sites captured under the stars.

He also will share information about the process, tools and equipment he uses in a night photo shoot.

Wagner has been the artist-in-residence for the National Park Service in El Malpais and El Morro, New Mexico.

He was also selected by the National Park Service to conduct a night photography session at NPS/Hovenweep National Monument. After 32 years as a BLM ranger, Wagner has been a photographer since 2014.

The presentation is sponsored by Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance.
