According to a Cortez Police officer, the driver of the convertible Nissan turned left from Roger Smith Avenue into traffic on East Main Street, colliding with a westbound white sedan. The driver of the sedan said she was driving in the inside lane and was beside a truck that was turning right onto Roger Smith Avenue. Apparently, the truck obstructed her from the view of the Nissan driver, who pulled out in front of her. The crash occurred during busy lunchtime traffic in front of the Taco Bell and McDonald’s restaurants, at the location of the city’s new, easternmost median on Main Street.
