Hit New Mexico TV in the wallet, be free

After reading the article about the trials and tribulations of getting state and local TV in areas like ours (“Southwest Colorado television viewers in for another year of New Mexico politics, crime,” Aug. 21), one thing was apparent. It’s all about money!

If you want to hit the satellite and cable TV companies where they will take notice, dump them!

I too was hoping for resolution of this problem by the governmental powers that be, but I gave up. I turned off my Direct TV due to cost, at first, but now I would not switch back for anything.

I only have a small, indoor antenna and I get news and PBS from Grand Junction, Denver, Salt Lake City and New Mexico. So, I can pick and choose which one I want to watch. I get plenty of TV and I actually get local political information. I love it – and if enough people did it, it would definitely send a message!
