Today, from 1 to 3 p.m., is an open house for Jay Fann, a local carver. In his studio (behind Becky's Salon) you can see the framed panels that Fann has been carving that will go in a chapel for Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. His work is oustanding and these doors are no exception.
"The minister and I have been planning and designing these panels for over two years," said Fann. "I've been carving on them for about one year."
The theme for the panels is the 23rd Psalm. They each have a scripture on them - "The Lord is my Shepherd; thy staff comforts me; my cup runneth over; the house of the Lord forever." Each panel shows the scripture and a carved depiction of it.
