Tuesday, Aug. 7
11:10 a.m.: A man who was being booked into the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a warrant for failure to appear.
4:15 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.
5:41 p.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant in the 700 block of E. Main St. and was cited for driving with expired license plates and failing to show proof of insurance.
9:51 p.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma Park, 15 W. Montezuma Ave., for violating alcohol-related bond conditions. He was medically cleared for intoxication at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
Wednesday, Aug. 8
1:51 a.m.: A woman was arrested on three warrants in the 200 block of West Fifth Street.
1:53 a.m.: A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
Wednesday, Aug. 15
2:48 a.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief and domestic violence after allegedly breaking a woman’s house window in the 500 block of South Cedar Street.
10:58 a.m.: A woman was cited for displaying expired license plates and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 800 block of East Montezuma Avenue.
11:44 a.m.: An officer requested an arrest warrant for a woman accused of breaking into a Doodad Storage unit in the 1700 block of Industrial Road and taking her belongings without paying her bill.
11:37 a.m.: An employee at the Retro Inn, 2040 E. Main St., reported that her phone had been stolen. An officer retrieved the phone from the female suspect’s boyfriend, but could not locate her.
1:12 p.m.: A man with eight court cases that prohibited him from drinking alcohol was arrested at the Methodist Thrift Shop, 444 E. Main St. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital because of intoxication, then jailed.
4 p.m.: A man reported that someone had damaged his vehicle in a hit-and-run in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St.
7:52 p.m.: A man was arrested in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., for violating alcohol-related bond conditions. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
8:27 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 900 block of East Main Street for violating alcohol-related bond conditions. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
10:58 p.m.: A man was arrested in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., for violating alcohol-related bond conditions. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, then jailed.
11:50 p.m.: A woman was cited for shoplifting a pair of electric clippers, valued at $49.97, from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. She was trespassed from the store indefinitely.
Thursday, Aug. 16
12:23 a.m.: A woman at the Maverik station at 2320 E. Main St. appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was cited with unlawful use of a controlled substance and jailed.
3:51 a.m.: A male driver who was a suspect in a domestic violence case was pulled over in the 400 block of West Seventh Street and arrested on charges of DUI, DUI per se, driving with a canceled license, third-degree assault and domestic violence.
10:28 a.m.: A man was cited in the 400 block of Lakeside Drive for letting his dog run at large and for an out-of-date rabies vaccine.
2:53 p.m.: Video surveillance at an office at 22 S. Beech St. revealed that a man who had reported his vehicle stolen apparently had forgotten where he had parked it.
6:06 p.m.: An eastbound vehicle collided with a westbound vehicle while making a lefthand turn in the 1000 block of East Main Street.
9:07 p.m.: A woman was arrested on a warrant in the 200 block of South Sligo Street after reportedly fighting with another woman at the Maverik station at 455 State St.
Friday, Aug. 17
1:51 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant from Douglas County while turning himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
4 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 400 block of South Broadway on suspicion of DUI, resisting arrest, careless driving and driving with fictitious plates and driving without a driver’s license after an officer contacted the man about being intoxicated and breaking a door at the Cozy Inn Motel.
12:45 p.m.: A man and woman who were contacted in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., were later arrested for violating restraining orders, and medically cleared at Southwest Memorial for intoxication, then jailed.
10:10 p.m.: A driver who reportedly crossed the fog line in the 10 block of East Seventh St. was arrested on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and weaving. Records showed she had been convicted twice on DUI charges. A passenger was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
10:47 p.m.: A woman was arrested in Centennial Park, 802 E. Montezuma Ave., for violating an alcohol-related protection order. While at the jail, an officer found a spoon, needles and syringes, and added a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Saturday, Aug. 18
4:44 a.m.: A “Keep right” street sign apparently had been run over at Third Street and South Broadway.
6:26 a.m.: An inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served a municipal court warrant.
10:54 a.m.: A man was arrested on a warrant outside his residence in the 600 block of E. Third St.
11:45 a.m.: A man standing at the front door to a residence in the 500 block of South Linden Street was arrested on a warrant, and after his backpack was searched, a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia was added.
12:31 p.m.: A man sitting on a bench in the 800 block of E. Main Street was arrested for violating an alcohol-related bond condition, medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital for intoxication, then jailed.
4:44 p.m.: A man admitted shoplifting $167.10 in chocolate replacement bars, dog food and paper items from City Market, 508 E. Main St. He returned the unopened items – which he said were for his ill wife – and was cited for shoplifting.
8:51 p.m.: A man at a residence in the 500 block of South Madison Street was arrested on suspicion of obstructing telephone service, third-degree assault and domestic violence after allegedly striking and biting his wife. The woman and her two children were taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital.
Sunday, Aug. 19
12:24 a.m.: A man who said he had been a vendor at a Mancos festival was arrested for DUI, DUI per se and weaving after he was pulled over in the 1500 block of East Main Street, then released to the custody of his wife.
10:20 a.m.: A man at the water dock at 20 N. Park St. was arrested on two warrants and resisting arrest after officers used force to restrain him. At the jail, charges of possessing drug paraphernalia were added.
3:56 p.m.: A woman was arrested for allegedly shoplifting $143.46 in goods from Safeway, 1580 E. Main St., and a woman who blamed her with shoplifting was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The three children with them were left in the custody of a friend.
3:19 p.m.: A man who apparently tried to flee an officer was pulled over near the 100 block of South Washington Street and arrested on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia and violating bond conditions and traffic laws. His bike and backpack were taken to his camper at Snooty’s Pet Salon.
3:51 p.m.: An officer planned to seek an arrest warrant for a woman who apparently violated her ex-husband’s protection order by giving messages to his mother. The man, who lives in the 1000 block of Jackson Street, also said his ex-wife’s boyfriend is sending him unwanted photos of a sexual nature.
11:48 p.m.: A driver who reportedly had been speeding and weaving was arrested at the Giant gas station, 2021 E. Main St., for violating an alcohol-related protection order and for possessing an open container of marijuana in a vehicle.
Monday, Aug. 20
3:20 a.m.: A northbound vehicle in the 800 block of North Sligo Street hit a parked vehicle, pushing it about 10 feet into a yard.
6:53 a.m.: A man reported that an exhaust system worth $300 was stolen from his vehicle in the 800 block of North Edith Street.
8:47 a.m.: A man was arrested in Centennial Park, 802 E. Main St., for possessing alcohol in a park. A woman was cited for possessing alcohol.
9:56 a.m.: A man at the Cortez Police Department reported that the entire housing for his left turn signal has been stolen at his home in the 1800 block of Rampart Street. The unit contained a turn signal housing worth $80 and a parking light unit worth $50.
1 p.m.: A woman with a warrant turned herself in the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.
3:13 p.m.: An officer responded to a call about a man who might have passed out on the steps of a residence in the 500 block of South Madison Street, cited him with underage drinking and transported him to the jail after he refused medical treatment.
5:33 p.m.: Officers went to a home in the 1300 block of Acoma Street in search of a man with an outstanding warrant and a woman who apparently had gone missing from a Durango hospital. The man’s mother allowed police inside, where they arrested the man on the warrant. The man also was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, including a hypodermic needle, a rubber tie-off band, a pipe, spoon and a small razor blade. No mention was made of the missing woman.
5:53 p.m.: A man was arrested in City Park after two electric carts went missing from City Market, 508 E. Main St. A store videotape recorded the man, who previously had been trespassed from City Market, as he drove away with a case of Bud Light in the cart’s basket. The officer located the man at City Park, along with an open case of Bud Light and two empty cans. He was arrested on charges of trespass, possessing alcohol in the park and possessing two open containers of alcohol in the park.
9:34 p.m.: A woman who walked away from an officer in City Park, 800 E. Main St., was warned not to walk into the street. She did, and was arrested on suspicion of walking in the street while intoxicated. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital for intoxication, then jailed.
10:44 p.m.: A man who reported a possible robbery at a residence in the 600 block of S. Washington Street was arrested for violating an alcohol-related protection order. Apparently, no robbery occurred at the reported address.
Tuesday, Aug. 21
7:46 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 10 block of North Sligo Street on a warrant for failing to appear.
