A new store has opened in Dolores and had its opening day on Wednesday. The store is Champion Graphics and Gifts and is located at 1127 Railroad Ave. in Dolores. Owners Tracey Beanland and Grant Hobbs say their new store specializes in everything from custom-made vinyl signs to custom gift baskets.

The motto is, “See what we can personalize for you,” and they can do everything from signs, T-shirts, candy bouquets, mouse pads, balloons, gift baskets, crafts and seasonal gifts.

Daisy Ragland also plans on having her photography shop, All About You Photography, at the store.

The store is inside the old Intricut building and is open Mondays through Fridays 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can contact the store at 882-3223.

The Farmer’s Market at Four Seasons Greenhouse was loads of fun this weekend. If you haven’t been, stop by and check out this new event. The farmers sell their products inside the greenhouse and I’m sure this winter the market will be even more desirable as the snow flies, it can be warm and toasty in those greenhouses. The Winter Farmers Market runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays through the end of March. Support your local growers and producers while eating healthy throughout the winter!

Also, don’t miss the wood-fired pizzas sold at the market, yum.

The month of November saw .8 inches of precipitation and 3 inches of snow. Many say we still have plenty of time for moisture and not to get worried yet, just enjoy this beautiful weather.

Gearing up for a busy holiday season. It started Thursday night with the Teddy Bear Preschool Christmas Program and goes on from there. There are the many craft shows over the weekend, including the one here in Dolores on Dec. 8 at the Dolores River Brewery and later that day at 5:30 at the Dolores Town Hall, don’t miss Santa, free hot chocolate and cookies, and the official lighting of the town trees. There will also be a yule fire. All the new lights put up around town hall should be spectacular when they are turned on.

The Dolores Elementary School program is Dec. 20 and the Dolores Middle School/High School concert is on Dec. 13.

Don’t forget Bedtime Stories with Santa at the Dolores Public Library on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. This event is for preschoolers. Make sure you have all you Christmas lights and displays out by Dec. 14, that is when the Christmas light judges will be roaming the streets and deciding who gets the title of best Christmas display.
