Mancos Valley Resources and the Mancos Trails Group heartily thank the many community members and businesses whose generosity made the second annual Mancos Valley River Film Festival a robust benefit and an exciting evening.

The festival raised nearly $10,500 to be shared by our organizations. Mancos Trails Group now can accelerate its stewardship and improvement of Mancos area multi-use trails. MVR received infrastructure support for its fiscal sponsorship of more than a dozen nonprofits, including Mancos Trails Group.

We especially thank the festival’s founding sponsor, Alpacka Raft, whose marketing manager, Lizzy Scully, worked tirelessly to produce the event and wrangled a herd of much appreciated volunteers. Specialized Bikes and Osprey Packs stood out among businesses that offered funds and in-kind support.

Others that went above and beyond were: First Southwest Bank, Bedrock Bags, The Wells Group, Adventure Journal, The Gulch Magazine and Absolute Bakery & Café.

We’re grateful to all of our sponsors (mancosvalleyriverfilmfest.com/sponsors) and to the makers who donated sought-after items for the silent auction. Philip and Linda Walters provided invaluable operational help for the main event at the Mancos Opera House, which they’re renovating to encourage the performing arts. Lightning Communications made the festival films a pleasure to view and hear. Fenceline Cider hosted the opening night and contributed a share of the drawer to boost both of our causes.

Finally, our thanks to all of you who attended the festival. We’ll see you in 2019!

Mary Brisson, Robert Meyer and Clara Martinez
