Stop pretending pot law is all for a good reason

I was reading the article stating the cases against people charged with possession may be in limbo. Does this mean that people do not have to prove that their pot was bought legally? I thought that was the main reason behind legalization: for the state to receive taxes from the sale of pot. What’s to keep people from buying from the same places they have been buying from?

You’ll never make me believe that drug cartels will just stop selling their wares because of a new law. I just do not believe that most users will be law abiding citizens and buy from a state sanctioned dealer, which I’m sure will be more expensive. I hope to see the numbers after a year to see how much money was made in taxes. I don’t care about pot or the people who use it, just stop using the excuse that it’s all for a good reason.
