Colorado Gives Day 2012, the third state-wide Colorado Gives Day, will take place during a 24-hour period on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The initiative encourages all Coloradans to “give where you live” to increase philanthropy throughout Colorado through online giving to Colorado charities. The initiative is presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, two organizations that have partnered for the last two years and distributed $8.7 million to Colorado nonprofits in 2010 and $12.8 million in 2011. In addition to fundraising, Colorado Gives Day raises awareness of the state’s nonprofit sector and educates communities on the benefits of online giving.

CASA of the Four Corners will be a recipient of this initiative as a non-profit organization serving abused and neglected children placed in foster care in Montezuma and Dolores counties. It recruits, screens, and trains community members to represent the best interest of children who are victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and domestic violence.

Currently, CASA of the Four Corners is under the auspices of CASA of the 7th Judicial District — Voices for Children. Any monies earmarked for CASA of the Four Corners on Colorado Gives Day must be directed through CASA of the 7th Judicial District — Voices for Children.

Any monies donated on Colorado Gives Day to CASA of the Four Corners will stay within the community to provide a voice in court for every abused and neglected child in the 22nd Judicial District (comprised of Montezuma and Dolores counties).
