The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado is moving to the Durango Tech Center.

“Region 9 has been renting office space since our inception almost 30 years ago”, Laura Lewis Marchino, Region 9’s executive director, said in a press release. “Since we work hard to help area businesses attain sustainability, it seemed important to look to our future as well.”

Region 9 will be closed and will have no phone or computer service during its move on Aug. 17-22.

Region 9 is a nonprofit corporation led by a 26-member board of directors that provides lending capital for start-up businesses, businesses needing smaller amounts or those that have a funding gap with their local Bank. Region 9 also administers the Enterprise Zone Tax credit program, provides socio-economic data, and provides a variety of technical assistance to support economic development goals and priorities.

Its new address will be 135 Burnett Drive, Unit 1, Durango, CO 81301. Office hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and its phone number and emails will remain the same.
