I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who helped make our Fall Open House & Quilt Auction a big success, helping to raise $1,200 for the Mancos Public Library! To the Mancos Friends of the Library for providing food, drink and valuable volunteer time; to Jamie Becktel and Dan Fitzpatrick for blessing our ears with their music; to Will Stone and Art Pulis for wonderful horse & buggy tours of Mancos; to Ray Boles for providing his cider press and expertise to help make delicious fresh pressed cider; to Abe and Alice Saunders for helping with our flagpole and flag dedication; to Lloyd McNeal for blessing us with his wonderful stories (with ukelele and whistling accompaniment); to Jim and Kathy Merrill for sharing their outdoor fireplace, firewood and copious amounts of time ensuring our flagpole was upright; and last, but definitely not least, to the library staff and volunteers for giving their free time to help during the event.

All quilts auctioned during the event were created by our dear friend and colleague, Enid Snode, who passed away this summer — so many thanks to Enid and her family for their generous contribution. It takes a village, and without all of your help and the help of our many benefactors we’d be lost. Thank you!!
