For Pets’ Sake Humane Society’s annual membership drive is happening right now, and we need your support!

For 34 years, For Pets’ Sake’s mission has been to improve the lives of companion animals in Montezuma and Dolores counties. Our volunteers continuously fundraise so we can assist our local residents with spay/neuter costs, emergency veterinary bills and pet food when money is tight. For Pets’ Sake provides foster homes and medical care for special-needs cats and dogs, and we facilitate owner-assisted adoptions for folks who can no longer care for their beloved pets.

Our Feral Cat Project addresses the issue of feline overpopulation with an incredibly successful trap/neuter/release program. Our organization has touched many lives, both two- and four-legged. We have our wonderful Humane Society members to thank for much of what we are able to accomplish.

The community’s financial support is crucial to our work. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit group with no paid staff. Our budget typically spends 5 percent on necessary costs (fundraising, licensing, supplies, etc.), and 95 percent of funds go directly to the animals. Our membership year began July 1, so now is the perfect time to join.

You can find our membership application at the Cortez Public Library, by emailing us at info@forpetssakehs.org or call 970-565-PETS/7387, and we will be happy to mail you our brochure.

Thank you for considering a membership with For Pets’ Sake Humane Society. The animals thank you, too!
