Cortez is more of a ‘dusty little town’

It is unfortunate that you failed to include a photo of the Vernal, Utah, main street in your editorial on that subject. The display exhibited on Vernal’s main street can’t be fully appreciated without seeing it. It is truly a spectacle to behold, quite beautiful and stunning. I saw the flowers in early October, and even that late in the season it was in its fullest finery. The comparison to Cortez is quite appropriate in terms of town similarity, but as you describe, Cortez is more of a “dusty little town,” whereas Vernal appears just the opposite, a thing of beauty from one distant end to the other.

Obviously there are a lot of hands involved and a lot of work, but it would be as well worthwhile for ambitious Cortezans as for the citizens of Vernal.
