Saturday, July 7

7:41 a.m.: Police responded to a report of theft in the 500 block of South Madison Street. A woman reported a friend had kicked her out of her apartment while she was drinking there on the Fourth of July, and she had left her cell phone and a pair of glasses, valued at $185 total, in the house. She told police the friend had refused to respond to her requests to pick up her property. When police contacted the apartment owner, she reportedly said she had left the items out on her porch for the woman, and they had gone missing. The case remains under investigation.

12:44 a.m.: A man was cited in the 100 block of East Main Street on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, failing to provide proof of insurance and operating a vehicle with a defective headlight. He reportedly told officers he had been drinking at Angel’s End Zone.

6:24 p.m.: A man was arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating bond conditions after police contacted him and another man drinking alcohol. The other man was cited on suspicion of an open container violation, possession of alcohol in the park and violation of bond conditions, and was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries to his legs.

7:09 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of South Sligo Street on suspicion of DUI after officers reportedly saw him “walk like a chicken” to his vehicle, turn on the hazard lights and drive into a nearby parking lot. He reportedly failed to perform roadside maneuvers like a sober person.

9:27 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 600 block of East Main Street on suspicion of violating bond conditions after police performed a welfare check because he was unconscious on the sidewalk. He was medically cleared due to intoxication.

9:32 p.m.: A man was cited in the 1000 block of East Empire Street on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and failure to dim his headlights after he was pulled over for driving with his brights on.

11:21 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a traffic accident in the 20 block of North Madison Street. A man reported another man had driven a pickup into his fence, causing about $100 in damage to a post. The two men agreed to settle the matter civilly, and no charges were filed.

11:42 p.m.: A man was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating bond conditions, two protection order violations and resisting arrest after employees reported he was intoxicated and had left before completing a transaction. When police contacted him for wandering into a nearby road, he reportedly resisted and tried to pull away from them. An officer pushed him to the ground and held him there, resulting in a cut above his left eye. He was treated for the injury at Southwest Memorial Hospital.

Sunday, July 8

12:08 a.m.: A woman was arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating bond conditions, an open container violation and possession of alcohol in the park. She was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital for a medical clearance due to intoxication, but reportedly refused treatment.

12:13 a.m.: A man was arrested on a felony warrant in City Park, 802 E. Main St. He was medically cleared due to intoxication.

10:29 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 700 block of South Oak Street on suspicion of a protection order violation and violation of pretrial bond conditions after police contacted him for appearing intoxicated in a roadway. He was medically cleared due to intoxication.

11:22 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 600 block of East Main Street on suspicion of violating bond conditions. He was medically cleared due to intoxication.

11:15 p.m.: A man was arrested outside the Methodist Thrift Shop, 444 E. Main St., on a Montezuma County misdemeanor warrant and on suspicion of possession of a Schedule 2 substance after police contacted him and a woman who was in the dumpster. While he was being arrested on the warrant, he reportedly threw a piece of rubber tubing a few feet away from him. When police picked it up, they found that it contained a plastic bag of meth.

Monday, July 9

11:29 a.m.: A man was served with a Montezuma County warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:33 p.m.: A woman was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after employees reported she had tried to steal some candles, a pair of sandals, some Icees and a package of scent, valued at $42.41 total.

9:45 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 300 block of South Sligo Street on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a defective brake light. She was reportedly pulled over near a place where police had found evidence of regular drug activity, so officers obtained permission to search her backpack. Police found a sunglasses case containing a meth pipe and a small bag of meth, as well as a cut straw, several burned Q-tips, several empty baggies, a small torch, a digital scale, a mirror with meth residue on it and a notebook containing a list of dollar amounts and initials.

Tuesday, July 10

5:40 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the Front Row Seat parking lot, 610 E. Main St., on a municipal warrant. She was medically cleared due to intoxication. While she was being booked at the jail, the arresting officer also served a Montezuma County warrant to a male inmate.

6:33 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 200 block of East Seventh Street on suspicion of criminal mischief and domestic violence after her boyfriend reported she had broken several windows in their residence, causing about $120 in damage. She was medically cleared due to intoxication.
