The Dolores High School and the Junior High Pep Club are holding a “Coaches Reception” this evening. All parents will have a chance to meet the coach which their boys will be playing under and get better acquainted with them. Coaches this year are as follows: 7th Grade Coach, Phil Misener; 8th Grade Coach, Revis Higgins; Junior Varsity and Freshman Coach, Bill Esters; and Varsity Coach Earl Carver.

Exercise classes led by Mrs. Ruby Gonzales, are still meeting on Thursday nights at 7 in the all purpose room at the school. Anyone can still join the class. There is no charge.

At a town board meeting held Wednesday, Nov. 8, the board of trustees took under consideration a petition from citizens living on 11th street asking for road improvements. The board decided to try to get something done there.

Lee Stephens and Margaret Nielson were in Durango on Saturday and Margaret visited with her mother at the Eventide Nursing Home that afternoon.

Hazel Smith entertained her bridge club on Thursday evening, Nov. 9, with Helen Fogel as a guest.

Bill Swank is a patient in the Presbyterian Medical Center.

Frankie Hudson was the guest of honor at a surprise birthday party at her home above Dolores on Tuesday evening when some of her friends, Betty and Mandy Harah, Lee Stepehns and Prudy McHenry showed up with a surprise birthday cake and ice cream to help her celebrate.

Helen Fogel entertained her bridge club on Monday evening with guests and members: Prudy McHenry, Jonnie Fredrickson, Lillian Simmons, Evelyn Tibbits, Margaret Nielson, Lee Stephens and Ruth Becher.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Porter hosted the Saturday evening pinochle club at their home on Nov. 4 with Mr. and Mrs. Don McQuaid, Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Steel, Mary Jane McRae, Helen Fogel, Callie Lofquist and Ruth Becher were present to enjoy the evening. Callie Lofquist and Dianna Steel were the high winners for the evening.

The Methodist Church Board held their regular meeting and are planning several things for the holiday season.

Mildred Denby was hostess for the Tuesday evening bridge club at her home on Nov. 14.

Dave Sanford gave an interesting talk at MYF Sunday evening, Nov. 12 to a large group of young people.

Yvonne Shearer was an overnight guest of Teresa Sturdevant on Monday night after the Sturdevants had enjoyed having supper with Mrs. Greta Shearer in Cortez.
