Monday, Jan. 16

4:24 p.m.: A man reported a theft in the 800 block of Hillside in Dolores. He claimed someone had rummaged through his vehicle, which was unlocked, and three knives, valued at $420 total, were missing. The man’s brother also claimed $232 had been taken from his wallet, which was also in a vehicle parked in front of the home. The case remains under investigation.

7:07 p.m.: A woman reported a burglary in the 31000 block of County Road S in Dolores. She said a couch, wood stove, wood trunk, microwave, bed frame, mirror, air conditioner, boxes of framing tools, antique china dolls and snow globes had all been stolen from her residence while she was away for two days. A horse trailer that had been parked outside was also missing. Deputies were unable to find signs of forced entry, but the case remains under investigation.

Wednesday, Jan. 18

3:04 p.m.: A man reported a theft near the intersection of U.S. Highway 160 and County Road 29. He claimed someone had been stealing about 50 hay bales from his field every few months. The hay bales are valued at about $7 each. The case remains under investigation.

Thursday, Jan. 26

11:20 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a municipal warrant from the City of Cortez.

10:04 p.m.: Staff at the Southwest Memorial Hospital reported a possible assault at the Baymont Inn and Suites, 2321 E. Main St. A man in the emergency room claimed an unknown assailant had hit him with a handgun in the hotel parking lot, knocking out several of his teeth. A deputy reported that the man’s father was also at the hospital with apparent facial injuries. The case remains under investigation.

Saturday, Jan. 28

11:40 p.m.: A man was issued a summons on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 26000 block of County Road P.
