It never fails to amaze me that our liberal friends keep trying to convince us that our founders did not intend for the citizen to keep and bear arms. One has only to look at the statements made by our founders to know that they meant exactly what they said. Here are a few of their statements.
Thomas Jefferson: No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
Patrick Henry: The great object is that every man be armed; everyone who is able may have a gun.
John Adams: Arms in the hands of citizens be used at individual discretion in private self defense.
Samuel Adams: (A)nd that the said constitution be never construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their arms.
Does this sound like men who intended for us to be defenseless?
Their next argument is, But times have changed, and I would reply, Yes, they have, but the honest citizen has just as much need for self-defense as they ever have.
A gun makes the average citizen more than a match for the 250-pound predator intent on doing them harm. A predator, man or animal, loves nothing more than a helpless victim.
Why does the liberal believe that we should all be helpless and depend on others for our protection? Gun laws would work almost as well as laws against illegal drugs. We sure fixed that problem, didnt we?
