Four Corners Gem and Mineral Club will hold its 65th annual Gem and Mineral Show from July 6 to July 8 at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 6-7 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 8.
The event will have a blue sapphire theme and feature about 60 vendors; visual displays from Mesa Verde, Animas Museum, San Juan College, New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and Salmon Ruins; door prizes; and a silent auction for items, such as jewelry, minerals, handcrafted artworks from club artists, tools and donations from local and regional businesses.
Cost is $2 per person and includes a door prize ticket. Children 14 and younger, accompanied by an adult, receive free admission. Pets are not allowed.
Proceeds go to fund operations costs and the club’s annual scholarship for a Fort Lewis College geoscience student.
