Archibeque gets back-to-back weekly honor

American center Kirk Archibeque (205-C-84, Fort Lewis College) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked MIA Academy (Tbilisi, Georgia), receiving Eurobasket.com Player of the Week for Round 3.

It is the second consecutive week that Archibeque has earned Player of the Week.

The 28-year-old had a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat TSU Tbilisi (No. 7, 1-2) 82-68. It allowed MIA Academy to take over the top position in the Georgian Superleague. MIA Academy maintained its perfect record.

The season is still in an early stage, but MIA Academy is off to a very good start.

Archibeque has turned out to be MIA Academy’s top player in his first season with the team. The former Montezuma-Cortez star has very solid statistics this year. Archibeque is third in the league in points per game (22.0), fourth in rebounds (11.0) and averages an impressive 1.3 blocks per game, while shooting 59 percent from the field.

Archibeque recorded 30 points and 13 rebounds to earn Player of the Week in Round 2.
