Two Dolores graduates receive $1,000 scholarships

Jasper Breitenbach and Bri Suckla have been awarded Southwestern Cowbelles’ scholarships.

The Southwestern Cowbelles have awarded their 2018 scholarship to Bri Suckla and Jasper Breitenbach of Dolores High School.

Each student received $1,000. Suckla will attend Western Oklahoma State to study to be an equine chiropractor. Breitenbach will attend Texas Tech University to study national resource management and water law.

According to Bunny McComb of the Cowbelles, the scholarships are for agriculture-related study. The candidates must also complete an essay that identifies their area of interest and explains how they are prepared for that field.

Suckla’s parents are Rowdy and Christie Suckla and Breitenbach’s parents are Eric and Jennifer Breitenbach.

McComb said the Cowbelles had five applicants for their annual scholarship.
