The San Juan Basin Farm Bureau held its annual meeting Oct. 24 at the Dolores School All-Purpose Room starting with a Polynesian Banquet served by the Dolores Band Mothers. Master of Ceremonies, Lew Meek, Regional Farm Bureau Manager, introduced the honored guests and presented the entertainment for the evening.

The third annual ski swap sponsored by the Stoner Ski Patrol will be held on Nov. 18 starting at 9 a.m. at the old community building across from the post office on Beech St. in Cortez.

Preston Klock celebrated his birthday last Friday by sharing ice cream and cake with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Wilson and Linda, Mary Akin and Joe Wesch.

Richard Willett spent Tuesday, election day, with Marjory Wilson while his mother, Helen, served on an election board in Cortez.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Martin and family were weekend visitors at the home of Mrs. Lois Rash. They returned to their home in Moab Sunday afternoon.

Mary Baker and Mary Jane McRae attended Ute Mountain Study Club at the home of Mrs. Burce Isaccson in Cortez last week.

A number of Dolores residents went to Lewis on Saturday to attend the Bazaar and luncheon at the Lewis Grange Hall.

Luncheon guests at the home of Mrs. Mildred Millard last Wednesday were her father, Clifford Alexander from Vista Grande Nursing Home in Cortez, Lavon Millard from Cortez and Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Findley and Brenda from Dolores.

Callie Lofquist had lunch with her sister, Irene Lee on Sunday.

Debbie Stephens spent the weekend in Dolores returning to school in Durango on Monday.

Park Colwell of Yellow Jacket suffered a heart attack at his home Sunday morning and is in the intensive care ward at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the present time.

Mr. and Mrs. Perry Conder, Prudy McHenry, Ruth Clark and Lena Tibbits attended the Friendship night program in Durango on Monday evening at the La Plata Eastern Star Chapter.

Carol Majors’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calhoon from Grand Junction will be arriving today to spend the weekend visiting with the Majors.

Mary Jane McRae was hostess to the Saturday night pinochle club at her home last weekend. Chuck Lee won high for the men and Callie Lofquist won high for the women.

Enjoying dinner on Sunday with Margaret Wedell in Lebanon were Florence Caldwell, Edna McRae, Mary Jane McRae from Dolores and Ambie Hoeschen from Cortez.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stowe visited in Dove Creek on Saturday with Mrs. Stowe’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Lee Neely.

Ross and Inez Thomas and Ed and Mary Burns enjoyed dinner in Mancos Sunday with John and Maurice Ritter.

Ron Smith, a senior officer with the Border Patrol in California, has been a guest of Sheriff Clarence Williams for part of the elk hunting season. He killed a nice spike to take home with him.

Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Wheeler returned home on Friday evening after spending several weeks in Coeur De’Alene, Idaho visiting with their sons and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Wray Wheeler and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Wheeler.
