The U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency is accepting nominations from farmers and ranchers for candidates to serve on county committees.
Producers serve on committees and provide input related to disaster, conservation, emergencies, commodity price loan support, county office employment and other agricultural issues to the FSA. Committee members serve three-year terms and producers can nominate themselves or others.
To be eligible to serve on an FSA county committee, producers must participate or cooperate in an FSA program and live in the area where the election will be held. Producers are required to sign an FSA-669A nomination form to be considered.
Forms for the 2018 election must be postmarked or received by Aug. 1. Election ballots will be mailed to eligible voters starting Nov. 5.
