In Durango, here are two shows of note: “About Light,” works by Cynthia DeBolt, Ann Friedman and Caroline Reeves Johnson, through Nov. 17, Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave., 259-2606, www.durangoarts.org. “Portraits of Men,” works by Elizabeth Kinahan, through December, Art Library at the Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave., 259-2606, www.durangoarts.org.

MANCOS TOWN GALLERY: The next show “SUNNY DAZE” willl feature photography by Patricia Burke and Brenda Burton, with drawings by Cat Fox, all featuring impressions of Costa Rica and Panama. Something bright and warm to ward off the impending winter gray and chill. The show will open with an artists’ reception on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Visitors’ Center on Bauer. The show will run until Dec. 15!

CALL FOR ENTRIES: The Town Gallery is working on the 2013 show schedule, and is actively seeking applications for exhibits. Contact Dian Law at dhlaw4367@gmail for more information. All forms of visual art, paintings, photography, sculpture, etc, are acceptable.

MUSIC IN MANCOS: Tami Graham Presents and the Millwood are hosting a concert, Robbie Overfield & the Breaks on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Millwood Junction restaurant. Here’s one reviewer’s take on their music, “... with a knack for lyrical storytelling and a voice that will make the ladies swoon, and the guys groove ... bluesy with some pop, The Robby Overfield Trio is refreshing like a sunny afternoon encounter between Ray La Montagne and Otis Redding.” The tickets are $12, and available at Millwood Junction, Rocky Mountain One Stop, Southwest Sound or at the door. MOAB ARTWALK: The last ArtWalk in Moab will take place on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 6 to 9 p.m., however, the exhibits are up and waiting for you, so go when the sun is still shining! We are experiencing a sunny November this year, so take advantage before the snow!
